Mold can be pretty toxic stuff. Unfortunately, some Fungicides pretty harsh, sometimes by necessity. Let's face it, we have to be around some pretty nasty stuff, so anytime I can find products which can reduce the amount of toxic products we use, I am all for it. Our standard commercial fungicide is pretty mild but the lower the toxicity we can use, the better as far a we are concerned. Recently, there has been a lot of buzz about Enzyme Products. What do Enzymes do exactly? Well, to be really simple, they break stuff apart...kind of like digestion. In this case, that "stuff" is organic materials, to be specific, Mold and the stuff mold grows on. The problem is, Enzymes have to be done JUUUST right or they don't work very well. Also, for me to use an Enzyme treatment solution it HAS to be EPA Registered for removing mold and I have to prove that it works in my own house as I do with ANY product I offer. Well, I did the research and finally found an Enzyme mold removal system which works, is EPA registered and actually works. I started using it around the house on all sorts of stuff that can get moldy (yes, even the President of a Mold Company gets mold in his house, especially around the windows). After trying it out for some time, I discovered that it works well, but there are some caveats. Enzyme Cleaners are not a panacea. They have limited conditions under which they work properly and the surfaces they are applied to need scrubbing when there is an active fungal colony present (versus some fungicides which can simply be sprayed on). When appropriate, we will recommend it to you, sometimes in conjunction with preventative products. Our Enzyme-Out treatment also works great for cleaning things like carpets, car interiors, showers, bathrooms, dishwashers, washing machines, drains and anyplace which has organic matter build-up. We've done the research, we've done the testing, we know how to make it work and we are proud to offer it to our clients as an environmentally friendly alternative.
