Problems often start in these areas and may go undetected until it is too late. Let's face it, crawling under the house or up into that dark dusty attic probably ranks up there with being audited by the IRS on the list of desirable activities. It is time to get a checkup!
Is There A Doctor Under The House?
In the course of doing many many repair and mold remediation jobs over the years we noticed 2 common ailments...Attic'ophobia and I'mNOTgoingunderthere'aphobia. Crawlspaces and Attics are nasty places you don't want to go. Yet those are the two areas where we see so many problems. Leaky pipes, roof leaks, insulation problems, mold, standing water, insect and rodent infestations, improper attic ventilation, damaged or improper vapor barriers, and rot may go undetected for years until it is too late and very costly. To combat this, we developed our Healthy Home Inspection Program. Think of it like the annual checkup for your house. We come out, crawl into the dark recesses of your home and go thru a thorough inspection checklist. We also check all the other areas we see problems like the bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen, etc. Our goal is to catch small problems before they become big, expensive ones.
Prevention is WAY Better Than Repair and Remediation!
Repairing a damaged structure is expensive and a huge hassle. A little bit of prevention goes a long way towards keeping those nasty surprises away. We are big on prevention and our House Checkup is tailored to do just that...find the little fixes before they become big ones. Sometimes a $5 tube of caulk is all it takes to prevent several thousands of dollars in future repairs.
Simple Preventative Measures
Often we do simple preventative measures which are affordable yet can save literally thousands of dollars in future costs. Something as simple as cleaning the vents in your crawlspace or attic, replacing a bad vapor barrier, a $7 tube of caulk in the tub, or replacing the collapsed soffit ducts in your attic before mold grows on your sheathing are affordable preventative steps that can save you thousands of dollars in structural repairs. Small problems lead to big ones.
The Cost?
What does a Healthy Home Inspection Cost? If your house has only an attic or only a crawlspace, $99. If you have both, $149. Both include the interior. Why so cheap? We want more folks to be able to afford to do it. Also, being honest, a percentage of the houses we look at will have some issues. We'd like a fair chance to do the repairs and preventative measures we are qualified for at a fair price. If we find a problem we don't deal with, we'll refer you to somebody who does. A lot of our business comes from referrals and we hope you'll spread word of mouth about us. If there aren't any surprises, great! We'll smile, give you a clean bill of health, a big fat dose of peace-of-mind, and we'll see you again next year.
